For a long time, Mpigi district and Uganda at large has never had a Private Nursing school that includes marginalized students; amidst many young people who drop out of school but with the interest in attaining skills in Nursing and Midwifery. Unfortunately these youth end up missing out the skills in nursing and midwifery because their parents have financial crisis and disadvantaged. In addition the district has inadequate health facilities and personnel amidst many health outbreaks that need medical attention. Having witnessed and discovered such problems in my community, it motivated me to start Mpigi School of Nursing and Midwifery that aims at becoming the leading centre of excellence in education and training of disadvantaged youth to become competent Nurses and Midwives in Uganda.
